Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Jairzinho ‘BIGI BOY’ Rozenstruik is a professional Muay Thai and MMA fighter from Suriname.

Bio

Jairzinho Rozenstruik, a native of Suriname, started his martial arts journey at the young age of eighteen. He began taking kickboxing lessons at a community center, known as the Rens Project, which later became “The Gym.” It was there that he caught the attention of top coach Michael Babb from VOS Gym Amsterdam, who took him under his wing and trained him at the House of Legends with Ivan Hipolite.

After only three months of training, Rozenstruik stepped into the ring for the first time, experiencing a loss in his debut fight. However, this defeat only fueled his desire to work harder and strive for success. In his next match, Rozenstruik emerged victorious with a knockout, marking the beginning of his rise as the feared knockout artist known as BIGI BOY. With his impressive record, he quickly gained recognition both nationally and internationally.

To date, Rozenstruik has participated in 85 pro kickboxing fights, winning 76 and losing 8. Of these 85 matches, an astonishing 64 were won by knockout or technical knockout, solidifying his reputation as a true KO specialist.

Rizin Fighting Federation

Jairzinho Rozenstruik made his entry into the world of MMA in 2012 and re-entered the sport in April 2018 when he signed a multi-fight contract with the RIZIN FF to compete in their heavyweight division. In May 2018, he made a successful promotional debut by winning against Andrey Kovalev at RIZIN 10 by split decision.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Jairzinho Rozenstruik signed a four-fight deal with the UFC in December 2018 and made his UFC debut on February 2, 2019 against Júnior Albini. He won the fight via TKO in the second round.

Rozenstruik faced Allen Crowder on June 22, 2019 at UFC Fight Night: Moicano vs. The Korean Zombie. He won the fight via knockout in round one, earning him the Performance of the Night award.

Rozenstruik faced Andrei Arlovski on November 2, 2019 at UFC 244, winning the fight via knockout in round one. He then faced Alistair Overeem on December 7, 2019 at UFC on ESPN 7, winning via knockout in round five.

Rozenstruik was scheduled to face Francis Ngannou on March 28, 2020 but the fight was postponed two times due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pair eventually faced off on May 9, 2020 with Ngannou winning via knockout just 20 seconds into the first round.

Rozenstruik faced Junior dos Santos on August 15, 2020 at UFC 252, winning the fight via technical knockout in the second round.

He faced Ciryl Gane on February 27, 2021, losing the fight via unanimous decision.

Rozenstruik faced Augusto Sakai on June 5, 2021 at UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Sakai, winning the fight via knockout in the first round and earning him the Performance of the Night award.

He faced Curtis Blaydes on September 25, 2021, losing the fight via unanimous decision.

Rozenstruik was scheduled to face Marcin Tybura on February 26, 2022 but the bout was moved to UFC 273 on April 9, 2022. However, the bout was eventually cancelled due to Tybura withdrawing due to illness.

Rozenstruik faced Alexander Volkov on June 4, 2022, losing the fight via technical knockout in round one.

Rozenstruik faced Chris Daukaus on December 10, 2022 at UFC 282, winning the fight via technical knockout just twenty three seconds into the first round and earning him the Performance of the Night award. With his win, Bigi Boy became the first UFC fighter having won 3 fights in less then 30 seconds.
